九谷焼指ぬき No.42

Of all the Kutani thimbles, this is the most valuable. It features a tortoiseshell pattern design, and the auspicious tortoiseshell, reminiscent of a turtle's shell, is impressive.

We took macro shots of this thimble to include in the project page. Looking at the photos, you can see its elaborate craftsmanship. Despite being about 3cm in size, each shell pattern is delicately drawn, and its intricate details are astonishing. The beauty of the underglazed yellow, green, and blue, and the glaze applied on top are harmoniously blended, resulting in a highly finished product.
